The Notorious Incinerator Incident

The Notorious Incinerator Incident – acrylic on canvas

This is an imagined portrayal of an experience that my mother tells of her childhood. A primary school teacher took the class out into the school playground to draw items there, and directed the children to draw the school incinerator, a metal structure. My mother saw colours reflected in the incinerator, and painted them. The teacher was not amused. My mother did in fact grow up to be an artist.
